Arts & Crafts 3-tier oak whatnot with turned legs. The bottom tier is an angled trough, perfect for Penguin paperbacks. This is a handmade piece.

Restored from a dark stain back to the bare wood and finished in several layers of hard wax oil and beeswax for resilience and to bring out that incredible oak grain. There is a persistent but faint ring mark on the top surface, visible only from some angles.

Note: This was bought by my lovely neighbour while it was a work-in-progress. We mutually agreed that the ring mark – after several oxalic acid washes – was faint enough to accept, thus avoiding having to stain this piece.
